Give Yourself the Gift of Life

I’ve spent my January in a warm and flavorsome place, full of interesting people, offering interesting experiences and a vast array of shapes, sizes, cultures and backgrounds. It was like eating one of those starburst sweets - a full explosion on the senses.
It took both Ross and I a few days to get into the full swing of things and instead of analyzing, questionning and being wary we decided to let go and fully embrace this new sensation on our palette. That taste was the taste of life. One that I and most have put on hold over the Pandemic period.
I had forgotten how much I love to experience the world, it’s cultures, histories and people. I have been reminded how fun life can be, how freeing it is when you allow yourself to be part of something much bigger than your self. The importance of connection to self, the place and its people are essential in living a vibrant and healthy life.
This was our 2nd time in Miami but this time we ventured into the up and coming Wynwood Art district,Cuban districts, Little Havana and Coconut Grove. From local dive bars to exclusive beach clubs. All of these experiences tasted differently. None were better than the other, yet they all were unique and satisfying.
As I reflect upon my trip I am reminded that life is for living. The more you put in, the more you will get back in return. It is after all a universal exchange.
Regardless of your tastes or preferences there is something for each and everyone of us. If you open your mind and hearts you too can experience what life has to offer. That may not be a trip to Miami, but if you give yourself permission to explore, to be an adventurer in your own life you won’t be disappointed.
Regardless of what you do, take the opportunity to decide on what you want to experience this year. What do you want to learn? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to spend your time with? What new experiences do you want to invite into your life?
If you haven’t yet thought about this, then I encourage you to take the time to give yourself the gift of life.
We only have one life on this earth so why wait…why leave it until next week. Embrace it today and experience the joy in what life has to offer you.
